Industrial Cleaner - Evening/ Night Shift

Job Summary:
The Industrial Cleaner position is to work as a full time in the Sawmill. Hours begin Monday - Friday at 3:30 pm once the mill shuts down for the evening and will end on the completion of task approximately 12-1 AM or based on production needs. The candidate will clean up broken boards, sawdust, wood debris and trash around the facility so it is ready for startup each morning. This is a physical job that will require sweeping, shoveling, bending, and lifting wood scraps.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cleaning floors with shovel, brooms, dust pans, or other cleaning equipment
• Wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection, when needed for specific tasks or environments.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, brooms, and power tools such as blow guns.
• Must have a professional attitude and work well with others.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Promote a safe working environment and follow all workplace and job safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
• Punctual and attentive.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – is preferred not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, squatting, climbing stairs and occasionally lifting items above the shoulders.
• Occasional lifting, pulling or pushing up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous walking or standing.
• Climbing ladders and working in elevated positions following company safety procedures.
• Ability to work from heights.

Work Environment:

• Indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and all-weather conditions.
• Walking on slippery or uneven surfaces from time to time.
• Hearing protection is required in certain areas of the facility when in operation
• Buildings and grounds are non-smoking except in designated smoking areas.
