This position conducts Adult Medicaid New Hire training as well as Refresher training and Enrichment training for experienced staff for all DSS FEI programs. Designs, prepares and implements training materials that address FEI program policies and procedures and navigation of NC FAST. Is assigned to mentor FEI new hires and conduct 100% quality review of new hire work to assess worker performance. Reports regularly to FEI supervisors and leadership on FEI new employee progress during training, mentoring and 100% QC review. This position also conducts QC monitoring for the Adult Medicaid Program records. Reviews FEI case records to assure that staff is complying with all Federal, State and Local policies and laws. Reports results of FEI case record reviews to FEI Supervisors, Program Managers and Quality Assurance and Training (QAT) staff using automated QC reports. Utilizes quality control data to identify FEI training needs and collaborates with other QAT staff to ensure that training is provided to FEI staff. Provides technical assistance to FEI program staff and supervisors regarding interpretation of Medicaid, Food and Nutrition and/or Work First policy.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in a human service program, counseling, training, in the subject or specialty area, or in an administrative support role in a staff development and training office; or graduation from high school and five years of progressively responsible experience directly related to training in the subject or specialty area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in processing and disposing of cases in NC FAST is required.
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and multiple FEI programs including Long Term Care highly desired. Training experience preferred

- Develops and prepares soft skills training content and handout materials to include such topics as DSS New Employee Orientation/refresher and Personal Safety/refresher training.
- Coordinates and executes the implementation of soft skills training for the agency to include scheduling training rooms, entering courses into the training management system, issuing training certificates, notifying employees of changes in location or date of training.
- Arranges for guest presenters to speak to training groups about their respective program or area of expertise.
- Must possess detailed knowledge of Adult Medicaid policy, procedures and practice
- Knowledge of the Food and Nutrition, Family & Children’s Medicaid, Long Term Care and/or Work First policy, procedures and practice is a plus
- Must be proficient in processing and disposing of applications, redeterminations and/or changes in NC FAST for Adult Medicaid
- Proficient in processing and disposing of applications, redeterminations, and/or changes in NC FAST for Food and Nutrition, Family & Children’s Medicaid and/or Work First is a plus
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel.
- Must be able to assess problems, coordinate resolutions, be able to handle a high volume of work and meet frequent deadlines.
