Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to transport children safely to and from school, activities, and special events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess strong communication skills. This role requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while providing a positive experience for all passengers.
Duties
- Safely operate a bus or van, ensuring the secure transportation of children.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff regarding schedules and any changes.
- Educate children on safety protocols while boarding, riding, and exiting the vehicle.
- Manage behavior on the bus to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Assist children with special needs as required.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or van driving is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children and parents.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to educate children on safety practices during transportation.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse families.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to maintain order during transit.
- A valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus.
