Mechatronic Intern
As a Mechatronic Intern, you’ll work on designing, building, and testing precision measurement technology for robotics applications. You will collaborate with engineers to bridge the gap between theory and practice, tackling challenges in sensors, hardware, and software integration to bring new technologies to life.
What You’ll Do:
- Work alongside a skilled team to design, build technology for robotics applications.
- Analyze and develop measurement systems from the basic physical level, integrating sensors, hardware, and software to bring these systems to life.
- Participate in hands-on projects that blend mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, with a focus on real-world robotics applications.
- Contribute to the optimization of measurement systems that are reliable, scalable, and ready for deployment in the field.
- Work with cutting-edge tools, including 3D printing and PCB design, to create tangible solutions that shape the future of robotics.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Coursework or experience in physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, sensors, and programming.
- Basic understanding of rotary systems with external encoder based commutation. Brushless DC motor and stepper motor actuation and the control system optimization.
- Proficiency in C, C , and/or Python.
- Experience with 3D printing and PCB design is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative, analytical mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of engineers and contribute to diverse projects.
Software Intern
As a Software Intern, you’ll help improve the features and performance of Dusty Robotics products, including the Dusty Fieldprinter 2 and Dusty Portal. You’ll focus on gathering, analyzing, and displaying new types of data to optimize system performance and enhance user experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Contribute to the development and improvement of key features
- Design, implement, and optimize software solutions that gather, analyze, and display new types of data
- Work with the team to integrate your code into the robotics platform, improving system performance and usability
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to identify opportunities for software improvements
- Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, real-world robotics environment where your work directly impacts the performance of innovative technologies
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in C , Python Go, and/or React
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and SQL databases
- Coursework or experience in software development, particularly in systems design and optimization
- Problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team
Robotics Intern
As a Robotics Intern, you’ll work on algorithms and methods to improve the performance of the Fieldprinter 2 robot. This role will allow you to dive into the complexities of motion control, sensor integration, and task execution, contributing to the continued development of our advanced robotics systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Work on algorithms and methods to improve the overall printing performance and efficiency of the Fieldprinter
- Collaborate with the robotics team to integrate your solutions into the system, ensuring that the robot operates with precision and reliability
- Contribute to optimizing the robot's performance, focusing on key areas such as motion control, sensor integration, and task execution
- Gain experience with the latest robotics technologies and methodologies, while solving real-world engineering problems
- Contribute to the continued development of our advanced robotics systems, playing a key role in shaping the future of construction robotics

- Proficiency in C .
- Coursework or experience in robotics, algorithms, mechanics, and calculus. Major in Computer Science
- Previous work or projects involving robots or similar applications is a plus
