Assistant Grocery Manager

The Assistant Grocery Manager must Assist the Grocery Manager, as delegated, to effectively train and supervise the activities of all Grocery Department personnel—resulting in achievement of sales and profit goals, which are consistent with the company’s merchandising philosophy and productivity standards.

• As delegated by the Grocery Manager, or in absence of the Grocery Manager.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Provide exceptional service, courtesy, and friendliness to all customers.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Achieve necessary sales and profit goals consistent with the store budget and profit plan.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Follow and enforce store policies and procedures.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Supervise and train all personnel to perform assignments according to job requirements while maintaining effective employee relations. Responsible for monitoring and discounting slow selling products, and selecting and merchandising of new items.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must ensure Proper ordering and allocating merchandise to maintain an in-stock and in-code position.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Implement and maintain department sanitation program.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Enforce receiving procedure according to store policy.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Ensure accurate billing and pricing.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Become knowledgeable of and review profit and loss reports related to Grocery Manager job function.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Submit required orders/grocery surveys to C&S on schedule.
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Maintain a file for weekly sales plans (record quantities sold).
• An Assistant Grocery Manager must Prepare a schedule, weekly, based on projected sales volume and workload.
• Plan merchandise, and build end displays to obtain maximum sales and profits.
