Job Summary
Supports application development staff and end-users in understanding Educational Management Systems (EMS) and technology applications. Serves as customer interface to the Information Management staff to provide new or enhanced functionality in student information systems and other systems development.
Essential Functions
1. Assists end users with ongoing, system-related standard operational functions such as school opening and closing; class size management; state reporting requirements; etc.
2. Interprets business requirements and writes programming specifications.
3. Analyzes current business processes and assesses compatibility with Educational Management Systems (EMS) or other enterprise applications. Ensures integration with other modules. Analyzes and reviews information to identify important issues and formulates alternative solutions to problems in area of responsibility.
4. Designs, configures, and tests new functionality and business processes to complement those in existence; configures EMS to accommodate designed processes; and ensures functionality in relation to established requirements. Approves requests for changes and development work. Gives final approval for development tasks.
5. Advises and trains end users to utilize new processes, handle system data anomalies and other system changes.
6. Articulates user needs to development team and takes ownership of development work performed.
7. Leads and coordinates system upgrades for applicable modules.
8. Develops and maintains documentation for system changes and implements changes to production systems.
9. Researches, documents, acquires and implements new systems.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in system support and analysis. Experience in requirements gathering, functional testing, and technical documentation preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Relevant system analysis certifications preferred.
