What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Rowing Assistant Coach position at DUXBURY BAY MARITIME SCHOOL INC?
Under the direction of the High School Rowing Head Coach, the Boys/Girls Varsity Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting with the administration of the DBMS Boys/Girls Varsity Rowing Program. The Assistant Coach will provide rowing-specific knowledge on safety, athlete development, training, and race preparation for high school rowers and coxswains.
Your general duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Create line-ups with the intention of making successful crews
- Develop and execute a training plan focusing on physical and technical development of athletes
- Regularly communicate and coordinate with Varsity Head Coaches, Novice Coaches and other DBMS instructors as needed
- Ensure DBMS Safety policies and protocols are adhered to by all program personnel and participants
- Attend all assigned races and supervise crews
- Assist with regatta transportation, bus duty, van driving, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on rowing equipment
- Attend DBMS social events on an occasional basis, as needed
