The Launch Driver position at Duxbury Bay Maritime School (DBMS) offers a great entry-level
summer job opportunity for individuals passionate about working on the water. Launch Drivers
are essential to the success of our summer junior programs, events, and community outreach,
providing crucial support and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. As a Launch Driver,
you will act as a role model and instructor to young participants in programs such as sailing,
marine science, kayaking, and DBA. Key responsibilities include driving launches to transport
sailing students to their respective floats, maintaining motorboats and other equipment,
performing basic maintenance duties on campus, and following all safety standards set by the
USCG and DBMS. Spend your summer at the waterfront and on the bay contributing to a
thriving maritime community.
Responsibilities:
Drive sailing students to on-water floats
Drive adult participants to our various moorings
Maintain powerboats
Perform basic maintenance duties on campus
Run general errands
Adhere to all safety standards set by the USCG and DBMS
General Schedule:
Competitive hourly wages
30-35/h per week plus option to pick up extra hours
Qualifications:
Launch Drivers must have (or willing to apply for) their USCG Approved Limited Master
(Launch Tender) License and be 18 years of age or older.*
Candidates are required to complete First Aid, CPR, AED, and SafeSport certifications
before the start of programs.*

process of obtaining a Limited Masters includes:
Passing an in-person two day class
Passing a medical exam
Passing a USCG approved drug test
Having 120 Days of sea time within the past 3 years
