What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing for ABA, Speech, and OT position at DV Therapy?
DV Therapy Inc provides ABA, Speech, and OT services across 5 clinics in Southern California.
Following Responsibilities:
- Verify client insurance coverage and benefits
- Identify deductibles and co-pays due based on service
- Obtain new and re-authorization for services for select funding sources
- Answer patient billing questions by phone or email
- Prepare daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly billing for submission to funding
- source
- Assess accuracy of claims and patient bills and obtain any missing information
- Submit billing claims and review for insurance acceptance through clearinghouse
- Submit claims through regional center e-billing
- Prepare, review and submit invoices to school funding sources
- Review EOBs for accuracy of payment
- Research discrepancies with payments such as underpayments, overpayments,
- denials or patient responsibility
- Follow up on claims (unpaid, denied or underpaid) via phone with insurance
- companies
- Submit appeals as needed for claim issues
- Audit daily patient responsibility to ensure timely collections
- Communicate with staff any outstanding balances that need to be collected
- Prepare, review and send patient statements
- Handle collections of unpaid accounts
- Post charges and account reconciliation
- Document billing communication: claims follow up, client phone call etc.
- Will be spear heading a Migration of the system to a new software to improve
- business processes
- Assist with data migration from old to new EHR/Scheduling system
Qualifications
- Qualifications
- Must be proficient in medical billing
- Must have proficient understanding of Medicare, Medi-cal, HMO and PPO plans
- Must have knowledge in billing operations (e.g., ICD-10 and CPT coding, claim submission, charges and payment posting)
- Must have ability to navigate EHR platforms (experience with Central Reach
- preferred)
- Must be familiar with HIPAA guidelines
- Must possess a customer-oriented attitude and proper phone etiquette
- Must have ability to communicate with various staff members via phone and email
- Must have ability to communicate
- Must be technologically Savvy (experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive)
- Willing to work full-time (40 hours/week) during US Pacific business hour (7:30am-4:30pm)
- Ideal candidate must possess clear and easily understandable communication skills.
