What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Technician position at DVHHS?
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS) is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill a full-time position for an Accounting Technician. The work in this position performs a variety of agency or fiscal host accounting functions in a multi-county health and human services agency including accounts payable, accounts receivable, claiming, and payroll. Functions are carried out utilizing agency or State accounting or claiming systems.
Minimum qualifications of education and experience for this position: This position requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and two years of experience involving a combination of office support and bookkeeping responsibilities, or Completion of college coursework, vocational school, or business school in accounting may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the experience involving a combination of office support and bookkeeping responsibilities.

This is a full time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week with a full benefit package which includes Public Employee Retirement pension.
This position is classified in Grade 9 of the DVHHS Compensation Plan with a hiring range of $22.69 - $29.44 per hour, dependent upon the credentials of the successful candidate.

A Drug and Alcohol test must be completed within 24 hours of all contingent verbal offers of employment, unless alternate scheduling arrangements are approved by Human Resources office.
