The Thermal Technical Specialist is interested in a career path in Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling, gaining more HVAC education and advancing his/her knowledge in highly specialized HVAC/refrigeration equipment & customer relationships. The experienced Thermal Technical Specialist works independently with cooling, ventilating, and building control systems in commercial and industrial buildings as it relates to data centers. Uses prior experience to problem solve all related HVAC/R technical challenges for the customer. Frequently communicates with Sales Engineers for customers’ needs

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
- Uses operational understanding of HVAC/R systems to work on split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc.
- Uses thorough overall knowledge of thermal dynamics and how it relates to heat transference in commercial buildings.
- Performs standard Preventative Maintenance duties on all Liebert/Vertiv Equipment efficiently and without requiring supervision.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, change out compressors, failed parts, etc. on all A/C equipment and direct HVAC Technicians and HVAC Technician Assistants on how to assist.
- Proficiently solder, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc.
- Communicate daily with dispatcher reporting job by job information about equipment ID, estimated time to complete job, labor hours and parts used.
- Read and interpret schematics and control circuits.
- Report to Senior Technical Advisor on startup and commissioning projects.
- Manage larger startup and commissioning projects on Liebert/Vertiv Equipment. Answer installing contractor’s technical questions.
- Interface with the customer on a professional basis and presents Liebert/Vertiv and DVL in a positive light.
- May direct team of installing contractors.
- Assists in training of Thermal Technicians and Technician Assistants.
- Properly handle refrigerant, reclaimer, vacuum pump and other essential tools.
- Work in a safe manner. Follow industry standard safety practices including knowledge of SDS, tool safety, equipment safety and ladder safety guidelines.
- Properly operate and maintains company vehicle, laptop and iPhone.
- Satisfactory complete Liebert/Vertiv Training classes as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- HVAC Certificate from a college or trade school
- Universal EPA Certification
- Over five-years of full-time HVAC/R experience; Experience with Liebert iCom a plus
- Experience in all aspects of handling refrigerant and making all necessary repairs required
- Experience in trouble shooting both simple and complex electrical and refrigeration systems required
- Self-starter experience
- Safety training required, OSHA 10 preferred
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license to drive to customer sites

The pay range is $23.00/hr. - $27.88/hr. or higher based on relevant commercial experience plus bonus, work truck, laptop and iPhone.
