Position Details:

• Job Title: Daycare Assistant Teacher (Full-Time)
• Location: Baychester, Bronx, NY
• Pay: $16.00 per hour
• Schedule: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with 1.5 hours unpaid lunch)
  • Schedule commitment required:
    • Monday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
    • Tuesday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
    • Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
    • Thursday: OFF
    • Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
    • Summer Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Care and Supervision - Provide age-appropriate care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Lesson Support - Assist the lead teacher in developing and implementing educational activities that support the curriculum.
• Child Development - Foster a nurturing, structured environment that promotes children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Classroom Management - Help maintain order and address classroom behavior with patience and creativity.
• Collaboration and Communication - Work closely with parents and staff to ensure a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in childcare, daycare, or educational settings
• Education: High School Diploma required; CDA certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year is preferred
• Bilingual: Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus
• Passion for Children: A true love for working with children, along with creativity, patience, and enthusiasm
• Skills: Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism under pressure, with excellent communication and teamwork skills

Requirements:

• Fingerprinting, medical clearance, and up-to-date immunization records
• State Central Register (SCR) clearance
• CPR and First Aid certification
• 3 professional references
