Your Role as an Assistant Teacher or Floater
We're currently looking for Assistant Teachers and Floaters who will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. As an Assistant Teacher or Floater, you'll be assisting Lead Teachers and helping maintain the classroom's overall effectiveness. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Assist in developing and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, social skills, and physical development.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe and excited to learn.
- Support classroom behavior and encourage positive social interactions among students.
- Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed about their child's development and classroom activities.
- Foster a love of learning through creative play, hands-on activities, and structured lessons.
- Float across classrooms to support staffing needs where necessary, ensuring consistent supervision and assistance.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for candidates who are dedicated, passionate, and eager to make an impact in the lives of young children. The ideal candidate will have:
- A High School Diploma (CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- A commitment to following state regulations and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for children
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage physically with children
- A passion for teaching and a strong understanding of child development
- Flexibility to float between classrooms and meet varying staffing needs throughout the day
