What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at DWF?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager to lead and strengthen the financial operations of DWF Claims (USA). This role is pivotal in improving processes, enhancing reporting, and maintaining robust financial controls. You will serve as the primary point of contact for group finance, claims handlers, and senior management, ensuring collaborative working relationships and adherence to group deadlines.
The successful candidate will combine a hands-on approach with a strategic mind-set to implement process improvements, manage financial operations, and drive efficiency across the finance function. You will also work closely with the central UK-based finance team to optimize key metrics such as working capital, strengthen financial forecasting, and continue to elevate the quality of management information (MI) reporting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations for DWF Claims (USA), which will include:
- Accounts Receivable
- Billing Process
- Bordereaux process / Client Reporting
- Expense Forms
- Working capital optimisation
- Bank Reconciliations
- Lead initiatives to streamline and improve financial processes, reducing risk and enhancing efficiency for the group.
- Drive and deliver transformation projects within the finance function.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, assuming ownership of key balances and submitting findings to Group Finance
- Reconcile financial systems, providing accurate reports to Group Finance.
- Supporting the monthly working capital review process, identifying and reporting on areas of optimisation and areas of risk.
- Act as the primary point of contact for any group audit queries that pertain to DWF Claims (USA) and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Provide weekly cash flow forecasts to the group treasury function and supporting information for any funding requirements
- Providing financial information and detailed analysis to present in local meetings
- Supporting the group annual budget process, and monthly forecasting processes, through analysis of historical financial data, future pipeline information and active participation in review meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Provide explanation of key P&L variances each month to management, producing detailed analysis where necessary to help explain the reasons behind any material deviations to budget and forecast.

- Extensive knowledge of Financial and Management Reporting
- Experience of identifying and implementing process improvements in a finance environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to interrogate and analyze financial data to drive better decision-making and results.
- Detail oriented approach with significant emphasis on achieving a high quality of work.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced dynamic environment with the use of initiative and a proactive attitude.
- You need to be highly competent at the use of Excel and be able to demonstrate experience in extracting, manipulating and analysing large volumes of multi-faceted information in a commercial environment.
The salary for this role is between $86,000 - $105,000 USD
