OVERVIEW:
The Material Coordinator role will be responsible for leading the order pulling and shipping activities within our industrial prefab shop. This role involves ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of materials and components required for the assembly of Electrical Power and Control System Racks and PLC Panels used in the oil and gas industry. The Material Coordinator will work closely with the Procurement Manager, Sr. Supply Specialist and production team to develop and implement internal logistics and inventory management strategies that ensure the uninterrupted flow of parts and supplies to the production team to maintain production goals.

DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Material Coordinator may include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain Kit Lists and pull sheets from Bills of Materials.
- Coordinate build plan, kitting schedule and review on hand inventory according to production and shipping schedules. Establish priorities in accordance with overall departmental goals and identify and resolve any issues that may impact production timelines.
- Supervise and assist in building kits to be distributed to production teams.
- Review and Coordinate look-ahead schedules with Procurement Manager, Sr. Supply Specialist and Production Managers.
- Facilitate work planning stock reports, prioritization of resources, and resolution of material issues, and identification of special requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
- Coordinate the kitting process and schedule ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials to production team.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of inventory movements and chain of custody that promote accuracy and accountability from both the supply and production teams.
- Set up and Manage consumables stocking system of bins and kits for production teams.
- Participate in and initiate regular inventory and spot counts to ensure accuracy and accountability of stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Provide exceptional customer service to the production team by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Request or generate comprehensive reports on inventory status, order progress, and supplier performance.
- Ensure the production team has the necessary materials and components to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the prefab shop.
- Lead and manage the supply team providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehousing, supply chain or procurement role, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software SAP and ERP systems to manage material flow and production schedules.
- A strong understanding of warehousing, supply chain and procurement principles is highly desired
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Certification or experience in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a shop environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
- Ability to operate and handle machinery and equipment safely.
- Occasional travel to supplier locations may be required.
