Summary:
Machinist Technician will construct and maintain jigs and fixtures as instructed for prototype and production
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Limited design including building jigs, fixtures and related tooling to meet manufacturing needs. Including holding fixtures,tool sets, machining plates and special devices for support of production and assembly facilities.
- Set-up and safely operate all tool room equipment required for building special tools and fixtures.
- Has machinist tools
- Capable of making sketches and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software; specifically Solid Works.
- Able to run manual and simple conversational machines
- Limited understanding of G-Code
- Troubleshoot and rebuild previously made fixtures and tooling
- Familiar with modeling and 3-D printing
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
- Machining background with at least 2 to 5 years' experience
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works)
- Computer Skills
- Basic understanding of G-Code
- Understands CNC mill operation
Requirements
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Trade's school or relative machine experience
Physical/Mental Essential Functions:
- Able to lift tooling with cart assistance
Work Conditions:
Work in a factory environment. Overly loose clothing is prohibited as it could become a safety issue.
Loud noise to be expected at times and ear plugs may be required for some jobs.
Some areas are narrow and difficult to maneuver.
Work hours are from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm with minimal flexibility.
No elevator access to the second floor.
