What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Architect position at Dwyer Instruments?
The Data Architect will act as a technical SME and intermediary between the business community and the technical community focusing on problem solving and developing data solutions that expand business capabilities. Working closely with both business stakeholders and IT teams responsible for ERP, CRM, Ecommerce, IT Infrastructure, and more, the Data Architect will ensure that appropriate data models, architecture, and integrations are established to drive scale, speed, and value. In addition, where applicable, this individual will lead projects and will serve as an active thought partner and consultant to the business community.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead the architectural design of large cross system data models and data platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Develop and maintain robust data infrastructure to support large-scale, enterprise-grade applications.
Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines, ensuring the efficient movement, transformation, and storage of large data sets.
Provide technical leadership in implementing data solutions and across a complex data landscape
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Influence the strategic direction of data architecture across projects.
Requirements
Qualifications and Educational Requirements :
7 years of data analyst / architect experience focusing on cross platform ERP, CRM, and Data Analytics solutions
Deep expertise in Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, MS Fabric, Azure DataBricks, and Power BI
Experience in building data management solutions, including ingestion, data engineering, modeling, reporting, and visualization
Solid understanding of Data governance practices along with working knowledge of 1 or more platforms around data lineage, cataloging, security policy definition and execution platform.
Skilled with common integration patterns between Azure Data Ecosystem and SAP technologies (SAP ECC, S / 4, HANA DB)
Strong experience in embedded analytics for both pro code and low code platforms (e.g., Power Platform)
Exposure and experience leveraging AI for operational insights.
Proficiency with enabling analytics solutions on cloud using native products and services (preferably Azure). Deep understanding of data lake architecture(s) across ingestion, transformation and visualization layers.
A deep understanding of Azure environment and platform
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements :
Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
Availability to work outside of core business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required for system upgrades or migrations.
Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
The ability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance.
Local and / or international travel will be required as needed (10-15%) including some extended stays on location for education or deployments. Must have a valid driver's license and US Passport.
