Essential Job Functions
Plan, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize complex network infrastructure, including routers, switches, gateways, firewall systems, multi-function switches, and network security devices.
Coordinate the maintenance of data, voice, or video network hardware and systems, investigating and resolving complex network issues.
Provide technical support and guidance in network architecture implementation and problem resolution.
Evaluate and test networking technologies, designing appropriate testing routines and conducting complex testing procedures.
Design, implement, and maintain LAN / WAN systems to meet specified requirements.
Analyze network documentation and report operational status to management.
Manage multiple priorities and projects while ensuring clear client communication.
Perform network troubleshooting, diagnosing infrastructure faults, and assessing impact.
Provide consultation, training, and guidance to clients and organizations.
Prepare proposals and make recommendations for network investments based on assessments of network performance, stability, and management issues.
Perform cost analyses and vendor comparisons to ensure cost-effective operations.
Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced personnel.
Technical Expertise
5 years of experience configuring and deploying Cisco network devices (routers, switches, and wireless).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in network performance monitoring, optimization, and bottleneck resolution.
Experience with Cisco networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
Familiarity with multiple technical platforms, including mainframe, two-tiered, and three-tiered client-server architectures.
Hands-on experience with network software and hardware, as well as proprietary systems.
Strong network performance modeling and benchmarking skills.
Experience selecting and deploying appropriate Cisco hardware and software components.
