The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays an integral role in the shipping, receiving, and inventory management operations of DXP. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; accurate and efficient movement of packages to and from DXP; organization & maintenance of the warehouse, ensuring a safe work environment are for all; and ensuring that all inventory items are properly labeled, in their assigned locations, and reflect accurate inventory counts.
Responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving Associate include, but are not limited to:
- Receives materials in accordance with the Procedure/Process Flow Charts PROC4.10R, PROC4.10CR, PROC4.10LO, and DWI 4.10VM.
- Verifies returned goods with necessary paperwork and places them on “Return” shelf.
- Shipping product in accordance with Procedure/Process Flow Chart PROC4.15SR and DW14.15PKG, DW14.15FC, UCDW14.15 SHIP.
- Maintains the shipping and receiving in neat and orderly condition; ascertains that all equipment is kept in safe and efficient locations.
- Upholds warehouse safety and security regulations.
- Assists in the loading/unloading of shipments. Advises management on any shipment-related issues.
- Monitor shipping supplies and advise management if supplies are getting low.
- Follows proper procedures in reporting accidents in accordance with company policy.
- Keeps supervisor informed of shortages, overloads, or damaged merchandise; refers complaints to supervisor.
- Identifies and recommends solutions for warehouse/inventory efficiency issues.
- May assist in annual/as needed inventory counts or reconciliations.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications of the Shipping and Receiving Associate include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Proficient PC skills, especially MS Office applications.
- Ability to coordinate with trucking companies for freight pick-up, as well as with carriers about damaged shipments and proof of delivery issues.
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external parties.
- Ability to follow Process Flow Charts related to job responsibilities.
- Able to understand and follow KC quality system.
- Strong organizational skills.

Additional Information:
Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted and up to 70lbs assisted.
Working Conditions: Air Conditioned, clean, organized warehouse.
Training/Certifications: N/A.
Shift Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Travel: N/A.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
