Robot and PLC Programmer
Responsibilities:
· Write and teach robot programs for new designed robotic cells using Kuka or Fanuc robots
· Write programs for new designed automatic and semi-automatic machines and conveyor systems using Allen Bradley CompactLogix and/or MicroLogix
· Debug and test new or modified robotic and PLC programs on production floor and customer facilities
· Conduct comprehensive machine and system testing
· Assist with developing customer manual and training for newly designed robotic cells, machines, and conveyor systems
· Assist in risk assessment of newly designed machines
· Assist with conceptual design of the operation of new/custom equipment and components
· Conduct necessary research when working on new product development or similar
· Help refine and develop programming standards and methods
· Assist sales with concept development, quoting, and equipment applications
· Support and assist Dyco installation and service crew
· Answer and coordinate customer service calls
· Other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager
· Complete management and coordination of all assigned projects
Requirements:
· Knowledge of PLC and/or robotic programming methods and principles
· Aptitude and ability to learn Kuka, Fanuc, and Allen Bradley software
· Skills to coordinate with other engineers, programmers, and customers on large systems and machines
· Basic understanding of mechanical design and applications
· Proficient using Microsoft Office products
· Ability to update programs, prints, spreadsheets, etc.
· Availability for 40 percent overnight travel
Experience:
· B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
· Entry level accepted; experience preferred
