What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Veterinary Assistant position at Dyer Animal Clinic?
Dyer Animal Clinic is a full service animal clinic in Dyer, IN. We are seeking a veterinary assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who is experienced, professional, compassionate, and caring. This position is responsible for the care of our patients and clients. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who is compassionate and has a strong work ethic. They will be able to multitask effectively, be efficient, and maintain a calm demeanor under stressful circumstances.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Client communication
- Proper restraint techniques
- Able to give subcutaneous injections
- X-raying and transporting pets
- Cleaning and maintaining the hospital and clinic areas (including machine maintenance)
- Assisting with animal care
- Maintaining patient records and documentation (including radiographs, medications, etc.)
- Providing patient education (including vaccinations, treatments, etc.)
- Performing routine clinic cleaning (including vacuuming, mopping, etc.)and maintenance (including trash removal, mopping, cleaning the exam rooms, etc.)
- Using laboratory machines
- Drawing up medications and vaccines
- Filling medications
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with accuracy and precision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under stressful conditions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
