DESCRIPTION
As a Café Manager you will be responsible for supporting and executing the day-to-day operations of the Café department. As a Café Manager you are expected to connect with and sell to our customers, while maintaining brand standards and upholding the policies and regulations set forth by Dylan’s Candy Bar and other relevant Health and Safety agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the quality of the café products served meet the standards of Dylan’s Candy Bar. This includes consistent portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
Meet individual, team, and café goals that drive the overall success of the store
Maintain cafe cleanliness standards in accordance with sanitation guidelines and Department of Health regulations
Maintains brand integrity and image through creating mouthwatering visual displays and products in line with both VM and health code standards
Monitor inventory and café supplies and participate in physical inventory.
Demonstrate proper food handling of café equipment and services and communicate any potential allergen triggers to the customer effectively
Ensure accurate supply ordering by maintaining minimum supply quantities in stock and not over ordering or ordering any products outside our standard menu offerings
Be vigilant in overseeing upkeep and maintenance of all café equipment and promptly partner with Retail Ops in case problems arise
Continuously train associates, coach, and provide qualitative feedback
Responsible for managing café service at in store and off-site events and PR opportunities
Provide customer feedback to the General Manager on highest and lowest café sales drivers and requested flavors for hindsight template
Can share product knowledge about candy products that will be incorporated into café recipes including dietary restrictions and allergen information
Observe the sales floor and make sure the business is running effectively and smoothly, staff is zoned correctly and interacting with customers, and store is clean and stocked when you are the manager on duty
Perform all opening and closing procedure in accordance with outlined SOPs
Follow all cash handling procedures and issue register audits
Responsible for resolving all technical issues in store when you are the manager on duty
Maintain strong working knowledge of all processes and policies
Ensure compliance with dress code policy and proper food handling procedures when in café by making sure team members are wearing hats, gloves, hairnets, etc.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
2-3 years of prior relevant (retail/food service/hospitality) work experience
Previous restaurant/café/food service experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Serve-safe or Food Handler’s certification is required
Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
Ability to work a fully flexible retail schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to lift up-to 30lbs with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to plan, prioritize, and proactively react to the needs of the business with a sense of urgency in a high paced environment
Demonstrates strong listening, written and oral communication skills
