SUMMARY
Perform various laboratory testing to ensure product meets applicable specifications. Maintain related paperwork. Aid in the preparation, implementation and auditing of food quality and food safety programs

- Perform test on batches to ensure product is mixed according to published standard operating procedures.
- Conducts assorted in-house inspections
- Assists in special projects as assigned
- Completes various reports as required by the company
- Assists with audit criteria and procedures.
- Maintains regular, dependable and reliable attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and programs (including providing leadership for safety initiatives within the facility).
- Complete all other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred especially in food sciences, biology, chemistry, or other related fields of study.
- Quality experience in food industry or related college study required.
- Effective and efficient user of common computer equipment and programs including Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Internet Explorer.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent communication needed to interface with all departments and outside vendors. Must be able to interact with customers on product development.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to take measurements in weights, chemical characteristics, and work in statistical process control. Must be able to work in fractions, and decimals (standard and metric) to effectively compute descriptive statistics, track trends, and perform other related functions.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Long hours involving extended standing, walking and sitting..
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, exerting up to up to 20 lbs. occasionally, and up to 10 lbs. frequently, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, lifting, and grasping.
- Works in normal manufacturing environment. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
- Works in temperature extremes, dampness.
- Proper personal protective equipment required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Varies: inside and outside, often wet and humid. May occasionally require early morning, late night, or weekend work.
