Quality Assurance Technician - Duluth 3rd Shift
SUMMARY OF JOB: Assist the Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control/Production Coordinator and Line Technicians by performing all necessary laboratory functions. Responsibilities include testing in-house product formulation as well as products received for required specifications. Monitors workstation throughout shift and maintains a clean environment within the Lab. This position will also serve as the contingency for the Quality Coordinator and Quality Lead, when out of the facility via vacation, absences, STD, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs chemical tests of all products produced.
- Assists in the calibration of all equipment prior to the shift start-up to ensure accurate measurements.
- Communicate with the floor technicians, processors and supervisors regarding what products are being made for the shift.
- Maintain and check batch sheets for correct formulas. Assure compliance of raw and finished products.
- Perform pre-op inspections of the equipment as well as the production floor Monday through Friday or as needed.
- Maintain product samples for required shelf life.
- Ensure all labels are correct and match customer specifications.
- Provide samples for customers and maintain retains
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Hold Area.
- Assist responsibility for the housekeeping of the Lab.
- Provide support to the Quality Assurance Line Inspectors as needed
- Maintain lab documentation (SPC batch sheets).
- Maintain and Support Quality Coordinator in SOP revisions
- Order supplies needed to keep the laboratory functioning at optimal level.
- Work in conjunction with the FDA when samples are needed to be retrieved and tested.
- Maintain paperwork & samples required for USDA produced products
- Assist in preparation for any upcoming audit
Qualifications
Qualifications: Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education and/or Experience: High school education or equivalency required. Previous Quality Assurance experience desired.
Language: English must be spoken as well as written.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to prioritize to effectively handle the demands of the position.
Physical Demands: Extended hours may be required.
Work Environment: Continued standing required.
