Description
The Financial Analyst is responsible for leading, managing and supporting day-to-day accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee accounting function, including cash receipts and cash disbursements, inventory management, fixed assets, preparation of journal entries, etc.
· Preparation and maintenance of account reconciliations in support of the Company’s monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closes.
· Investigate and correct differences between general ledger account balances and system generated supporting reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.
· Work on special projects to analyze and reduce operating expenses, and other cost-saving initiatives, etc. at divisions and corporate level, as needed.
· Supervise, train and mentor accounting team at US divisions.
· Assist in developing and maintaining business system workflows.
· Work with CFO, Controller, and Accounting Manager on process improvements for maintaining inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and preparation of monthly financial closes.
· Support Controller with preparation and completion of annual external audit
· Review and analyze actual departmental expenses in comparison to the Company’s financial budgets and investigate significant variances.
· Assist with annual physical inventory.
· Processing and balancing bank transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, MBA a plus.
· A minimum of three to five years of public/private accounting experience is necessary.
· Strong analytical and technological skills.
· Ability to aggregate and analyze data to make recommendations.
· Team player, including being willing and able to do your part as well as wanting to help others.
· Communicate effectively, work independently in a team environment, and interact with people at all levels and across departments.
· ERP experience with Sage Enterprise Resource Planning (X3) and Sage Enterprise Intelligence software.
· ERP Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 software or Infor software, a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities – this position has responsibility for overseeing accounting staff at the US division level.
Work Environment – is primarily an office setting with little to no noise. Ability to visit regional locations and physically engage on the floor with the labor workforce.
