What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Human Resources - Dynamic Engineering position at Dynamic Engineering Consultants, PC?
The Head of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing a team of four who handle key functions of the business including employee relations, benefits administration, regulatory compliance, payroll, talent acquisition and retention, and learning & development. Reporting directly to the COO, this person will partner with our leadership team to help lead the business forward in our growth objectives.
Strategic Plan Development and Execution:
- Provide HR input as the subject matter expert to the overall Business Plan
- Develop plans and administer the roll-out of strategic initiatives
- Addressing employee concerns, managing conflicts, investigating complaints, and providing mediation support.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires
- Manage bi-annual performance reviews
- Lead the implementation of a dedicated L&D program across the company
- Ensure compliance to the overall Plan
- Refine the program based on feedback and experience
- Oversee and provide expertise to our Benefits Specialist
- Take ownership of items such as health/welfare plans, insurance coverage, 401k plans, FMLA, Paid Family Leave, and more
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations regarding workplace safety, discrimination, and harassment.
- Experience managing compliance across multiple states
- Manage HR database
Payroll:
- Ensure timely and accurate process of bi-weekly payroll for a staff of 350 FT employees
Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee our Talent Acquisition team
- Ensure we are meeting our staffing needs in line with company growth plans
- Provide strategic HR business partnership, advising leaders on key priorities.
- Serve as the HR lead on strategic business initiatives and periodic reporting requirements.
- Lead the HR team of four to develop and implement specific plans to meet the needs of the business.
- Conduct exit interviews and monitors for trends.
- Maintain current knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- PHR and/or SHRM certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- 8 years of related experience preferred.
- Proven track record in human resources management.
- Experience in working with administering L&D programs.
- Ability to effectively lead a team of professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to be in the office during normal business hours.
- Occasional travel to other offices.
