Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead our due diligence investigations and design engineering analyses for various types of retail, commercial, industrial, and residential site layouts.
Responsibilities:
- Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
- Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.
- Prepare Conceptual Site Plans.
- Prepare preliminary Grading Plans and Design.
- Design of Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems, and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.
- Prepare construction cost estimates.
- Prepare project proposals.
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Project coordination with client, other consultants, and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application.
- Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports.
- Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc.
- Presentation to planning and zoning boards, municipal agencies, and project teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3 years experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.
- In-depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
- Knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design.
- Proficient in design and drafting capabilities.
- Proficient grading and drainage design skills.
- Utility design experience including pump station and force mains.
- Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
- Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.
- Construction support experience.
- Proficient in the use of the following design tools for site engineering:
- AutoCAD Civil3D
- Hydrology Software i.e. Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack
- Hydraulic Software i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
- HEC-RAS
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Independent and critical thinking abilities.
- Superior organizational and delegation ability.
- Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring.
- Client management experience.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
