About the Case:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide private duty nursing care for a 9-year-old boy with a g-tube and tracheostomy. The nurse will provide care in the home and accompany the child to school, ensuring his medical needs are met in all environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, including management of a g-tube and tracheostomy, in accordance with the prescribed care plan.
- Accompany the child to school, providing one-on-one care and ensuring his safety throughout the school day.
- Monitor the child's health status, including vital signs and respiratory status, and promptly report changes to the physician or care team.
- Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and g-tube feedings per physician orders.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with school staff and educators to ensure the child’s medical needs are appropriately supported during school activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including daily progress notes.
- Educate and support the child’s family on managing his medical needs as needed.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Ensure the child’s comfort, safety, and well-being in all environments.
Qualifications:
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in [Insert State].
- Minimum of 1-year pediatric nursing experience preferred, particularly in tracheostomy and g-tube care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a school environment while collaborating with educators and staff.
