Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and maintaining various types of flooring.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Dust surfaces, clean windows, and maintain overall cleanliness of the facility.
- Assist with custodial tasks such as vacuuming carpets and maintaining cleanliness in high-traffic areas.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs needed or unsafe conditions.
- Occasionally assist with residential painting projects as needed.
- Serve as a porter by ensuring that all areas are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is an advantage.
- Must possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
