Shrub Trimming and Pruning Foreman

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shrub Trimming Foreman to lead and oversee shrub trimming operations. This position requires at least 2 years of experience in shrub trimming and pruning. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality work, proper use of equipment, and adherence to safety standards while maintaining the professional appearance of shrubs and hedges on residential and commercial properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shrub Trimming & Pruning
• Trim and shape shrubs, hedges, and small trees to enhance aesthetics.
• Remove dead, diseased, or damaged branches.
• Follow seasonal pruning schedules for different plant species.
• Equipment Operation & Ladder Safety
• Safely operate hand and power tools, including hedge trimmers and pruning shears.
• Ensure proper and safe use of ladders for reaching taller shrubs and hedges.
• Report any equipment issues to the designated mechanic for repair and maintenance.
• Site Cleanup & Waste Disposal
• Oversee the cleanup and proper disposal of clippings, leaves, and debris.
• Ensure job sites are left clean and professional after work is completed.
• Customer Service & Communication
• Act as the main point of contact for clients on-site, addressing questions or concerns.
• Provide recommendations for shrub care and additional services.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding job progress and any challenges.
• Safety & Compliance
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure all crew members wear proper PPE.
• Train and enforce ladder safety protocols to prevent falls and injuries.
• Adhere to local landscaping regulations and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in shrub trimming, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of pruning techniques and proper shrub care.
• Experience using ladders safely for trimming tall shrubs and hedges.
• Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required (for transportation to job sites).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
