Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety and compliance programs for both Oakland yards
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions
- Provide safety training and education to all employees
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
- Collaborate with management to foster a strong safety culture
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures
- Manage worker's compensation claims and return to work programs
- Oversee procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE
