What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales and Business Development Specialist position at Dynamic Research, Inc.?
Role Overview
The Sales and Business Development Specialist is responsible for developing, driving and implementing strategy to increase revenue growth for Dynamic Research, Inc. This will also involve effective business development activities that both maintain existing client relationships and developing new business relationships with vehicle manufacturers, tier 1 suppliers, test facilities and autonomous vehicle developers, ensuring internal resources are assigned to achieve these opportunities.
What you will be doing?
- Identifying Growth Opportunities:
- In conjunction with the Managing Director and General Manager, will develop, implement, and execute a sales strategy and tactical plan for the Dynamic Research Inc. brand and their customers/clients actioning this to maximize revenue and profitable growth.
- Coordinates major pursuit activities for clients whose projects operate across all DRI businesses in NA.
- Analyzes market conditions and develops strategies to improve the company’s market position for financial growth.
- Creates, implements and manages business development and marketing strategies to identify new business opportunities.
- Researches the competition and generates potential leads
- Review product and service needs regularly and gather market intelligence
Relationship Management:
- Visit customers to maintain and develop the relationship and promote the company’s core products and service capabilities through a solutions-based approach.
- Develop new prospects within the assigned geographical region and develop strong relationships.
- Works with key stakeholders to ensure coordinated and appropriate engagement occurs between management and clients.
- Facilitate multi-level contacts and communication between ABD Group entities and the client to maximize complete local client engagement and partnering.
- Manages the overall relationship with clients through collaboration with other ABD Group team member.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to foster collaboration and business opportunities.
- Participates and serves as a company leader at industry events inspiring confidence while gaining respect in the industry.
- Help shape client expectations.
- Ensure an effective call cycle is developed that maximizes time in geographical locations, and proper coverage is maintained for key accounts and those with potential for growth.
Negotiation and closing:
- Prepares and ensures proposals and quotes are accurate for major opportunities.
- Engages in high level negotiations and closing deals that maximize profitability and support long-term growth
- Day-to-day management of all large bid activities ensuring the internal team is provided with consistent, accurate, timely and relevant information.
Account Review and management:
- Conduct regular reviews of accounts to determine spend and potential and ensure the development of, and alignment between client strategy and DRI’s capabilities and strategy.
- Ensures compliance with all organization’s relevant safety, legislation, internal company policies and procedures and ethical standards.
- Ensure sales budget are met and if not, provide explanations for variances with a clear plan to make up revenue not being achieved.
- Forecast monthly and quarterly revenue projections.
Project Management:
- Understand what projects are underway and support the work to ensure outcomes are being delivered through client engagement.
- Assist to influence and add value to the client through involvement on specific pursuit, proposals and delivery phases of the client project life cycle.
- Deal with conflict and major service failure issues with appropriate management and team members
- Follow up with production/engineering on all orders and services to ensure delivery is on time, and if not ensure customers are kept in the loop as to expected timeframes.
- At all opportunities enhance and lead to engage in a positive culture of TEAM and company standing.
- Weekly reporting and updates to General Manager and Managing Director|USA.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in and knowledge of the automotive industry from within a vehicle manufacturer or Tier 1 supplier
- Demonstrated ability to both develop and execute on strategy
- Excellent negotiation skills and solutions-based approach
- Strong experience in strategic planning, change management, and effective execution standards. Is highly organized and possesses very effective time management skills.
- Has a strong written and verbal communication skill set, with equally strong listening skills.
- Has the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations.

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
