CNC Operator Job Description
DESCRIPTION: Set up machines and program them to the specifications listed on the job card or blue print
To accomplish this it will require them to:
- Read job cards for information specifications needed
- Understand how to program computer numerical control (CNC) machines
- Input the correct programs into the CNC machines
- Stack, mark, pack, and transport products
- Operate multiple machines when instructed by management
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Water Jet primary responsibilities are:
- Work in a safe, and courteous manner.
- Regular attendance is an expectation of the job.
- Read and understand directions, including job cards and blue prints set-up form material needed to create bellow.
- Operate brake press machines to bend metal pieces and plates according to the blue print.
- Operate a laser cutting machine to cut pieces out of metal from larger sheets according to the blue print.
- Operate multiple saw machines to cut metal to size according to the blue print.
- Operate a router machine to cut out riders, scrolls, and other items according to the blue print.
- Operate a lathe and milling machine to shape metal to correct specifications according to the blue print.
- Operate a drill machine to create holes in material according to the blue print.
- Perform preventative maintenance per schedule according to the blue print.
- Support the operation focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory according to the blue print.
- Operate a waterjet cutting machine to cut pieces out of metal from larger sheets according to the blue print.
- Operate the material packing machine according to the blue print.
- Operate the material cutting machine according to the blue print.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate a crane system to move metal sheets/rolls of material.
- Use a grinder to take off rough edges.
- Use hand tools (i.e. hammer, mallet, pliers, cutters, screw driver).
- Ensure metal pieces get packaged to be transported
- Drive and operate a forklift
- Update status of jobs and view upcoming jobs in ERP software.
- Communicate with team members, team leader, and management of production activities for shift transitions.
- All other duties as assigned as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma / GED or higher-level education.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in CAD software for programming cutting paths.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
- Basic math skills for calculations
- Proven record of stable work history and exemplary attendance.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

- Manufacturing industry expertise.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
