We are seeking a highly motivated Material Specialist to join our team. The Materials Specialist is responsible for coordinating the purchase and acquisition of materials, supplies, tools, parts and equipment using a specialized work order system. The Material Specialist will be responsible for the receiving, storekeeping, handling, and recordkeeping (manually or computerized) of materials, supplies, tools, parts and equipment. The Material Specialist will also be in charge of managing the flow of materials out of the company, ensuring that all materials are properly being handled to the employees according to work orders. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As well as not being afraid on working outdoors and in the heat and be able to lift heavy boxes and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the inventory of materials, ensuring that all materials are properly stored, labeled, and tracked
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Making necessary stock level adjustments, establishing re-order points, insuring inventory movements are entered into the computer or manually recorded.
• In occasion, picking up and delivering materials, supplies, tools, parts and equipment from various places to prevent work delays or to enhance productivity.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and quality of materials
• Monitor and report on inventory levels, identifying potential shortages or excesses
• Develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency of material management
• Operating a forklift to load, unload and move and stock materials, supplies and equipment in both enclosed and open storage areas.
• Maintaining the work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field or at least 3 years of experience in material management or a related field
• Able to work outdoors in the heat or extreme temperatures
• Able to lift boxes, tolls and other heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and inventory management software
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to material handling
• CDL preferred
