Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Supervisors: Shop Supervisor
Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for daily shipping of customer orders and other goods and performing various inventory control tasks. This position requires a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail; perfect attendance is a must.
Position Responsibilities:
- Verify, package, and ship customer orders
- Coordinate transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
- Process shipments using UPS / FedEx / DHL software applications
- Review shipping documents to ensure accuracy
- Make special shipping arrangements as necessary
- Track and fix shipping errors
- Prepare Shipping Bills and Invoices
- Manage Distribution and Shipment Budgets
- Ensure the quality of all services provided meets the required standards
- Develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
- Record shipment data: serial numbers, weight, charges, tracking, etc.
- Pull parts from inventory as required
- Assist in cycle counting parts on a routine schedule
- Perform other related tasks as needed
Experience & Education:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in related environment
- Ability to recognize and sort by alphanumeric codes
- Knowledge of inventory business practices
- Demonstrated proficiency in shipping and receiving processes
- Ability to move objects of up to 45 lb
- Experience with shipping applications
- Experience with spreadsheets and word processing software
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and contribute within a team environment
- Ability to act proactively and alert proper channels when issues arise
- Ability to multitask and prioritize functions throughout the workday
- Good driving record--eligible to be insured to drive company vehicles
- Forklift certification strongly desired
- Must be age 18
