Regulatory/SQF Practitioner
Purpose of the Job
Assist with the day-to-day regulatory requests regarding quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance issues and providing additional purchasing and QC/R&D/Technical/Audits assistance as needed or required.
This position is a resource to the business unit for auditor training and calibration, and must be familiar with SQF, HACCP, ISO (audit lead), corporate food safety, quality and regulatory compliance standards.
Interfaces with all levels of the business in regards to compliance, regulatory, and EH&S requirements. This includes assisting in all audits, customer regulatory requests as well as facility certifications and license registrations.
Job Tasks and Business Decisions
Prepare information, documents or responses as requested by customers and regulatory agencies.
Provide technical review of data or reports that will be incorporated into regulatory submissions to assure scientific rigor, accuracy and clarity of presentation.
Assist in reviewing product labelling, batch records, specification sheets or test methods for compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
Determine the types of regulatory rules or rule changes and ensure that they are communicated through corporate policies and procedures.
Determine the types of regulatory submissions or internal documentation that are required in situations such as proposed device changes or labelling changes.
Maintain technical files as necessary to obtain and sustain product approval.
Coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents and/or submissions.
Maintain product hold logs, foreign materials logs and other various logs. Assures that nonconforming product is addressed timely and reported to the appropriate personnel and follows correct process flow.
Identify, establish, define, document and implement training needs for DFC’s personnel to ensure they have the necessary competencies to perform those functions affecting product legality, food safety and food quality.
Maintain Food Safety programs, procedures and systems on site. Hold monthly FS meetings, in charge of corrective actions, assists with document control and customer complaints.
Assist in maintaining data in ChemPax and SAP business systems
Assist in Pre-requisite Program validation, documentation, implementation and monitoring of the program effectiveness as it relates to food safety limits.
This position also acts as the backup to the purchasing specialist position.
Responsible for scheduling and conducting internal audits for SQF program effectiveness including facility & equipment inspections as well as documenting & implementing changes as needed or required.
4. Required Experience regarding the job

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or other related discipline.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Previous experience working in laboratory environment in a technical capacity required.

SQF HACCP and PCQI certification a plus
Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and o the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
