What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stagehand position at DZL Management Company LLC?
The stagehand functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the Production Manager. This position is required to provide outstanding service and will be responsible for setting up and testing sound, lighting, and other equipment, following the production manager’s instructions, assisting performers backstage, and making adjustments to sets.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds solid, professional relationships with artists and clients. Provides immediate, friendly, and personalized service to enhance their experience.
- Communicates with artists, clients and other staff members to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed to specifications.
- Moves, sets up, and tests lighting, sound, props, and other equipment according to set requirements.
- Performs a variety of backstage and maintenance tasks.
- Assembles equipment and support structures and breaking them down when the show is over.
- Makes set adjustments when necessary.
- Inspects lighting, sound, and other equipment, and ensuring that everything is plugged into the correct power source.
- Assists performers with wardrobe changes and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Runs errands when required.
- Moves with a sense of urgency.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Staff Handbook.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Required:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred
- Past experience working in venues or small music clubs
- Must pass a criminal background check

- Basic knowledge of audio and lighting set up.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Must be able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Must be able to carry loads up to 50 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Will be required to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Able to work in environment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
