Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA – Onsite Required
Position Description
The Electrical Engineer in this position will be responsible for a wide gamut of electrical engineering tasks including system design, payload integration, PCBA design, harness design, electrical testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well both on an individual basis and in a team environment. The candidate must be able to function and communicate in an interdisciplinary team (Aero, Mechanical, Software, etc.). The Electrical Engineer reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager, while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.

Required Skills
- Experience in small to medium size teams in an advanced development environment
- Hands-on experience with electrical components and assemblies
- Ability to communicate effectively with technicians and shop leads
- Document designs and analyses with written reports, presentations, and Engineering drawings.
- Characterize, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Interface effectively with management, and other engineering personnel
- Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems and components
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards, and specifications)
- Electrical design using CAD software (Zuken and Altium Preferred)
- A willingness to travel on occasion
- Hands-on experience with soldering / harness building / testing PCBA boards
- Experience in designing robotic and aircraft systems
- Military and/or UAV experience is a plus
- Electrical design using CAD software (Zuken and Altium Preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
- Familiar with MIL spec hardware and harnessing standards
- Architect electrical system suitable for an aircraft system
- Architect electrical system suitable for a Ground Control Station
- Select LRUs suitable for the vehicle
- Select electrical components such as Connectors, Harnesses, Batteries, wire gauge, etc. suitable for the application
- Troubleshoot any electrical issue taking place in manufacturing environment as well as in operational environment
- Create and maintain work instructions for an aircraft production environment
- Conduct acceptance test procedures throughout the vehicle assembly and test process
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, establish standards, confirming manufacturing processes
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
- 3 years professional experience
