JOB TITLE: IT Department – Sr. Systems Administrator
E-470 OVERVIEW: E-470 Public Highway Authority is a dynamic 47 mile toll road on the eastern perimeter of the Denver Metro area that serves its customers as well as providing back office tolling services for all other toll facilities in the State of Colorado. E- 470 strives to provide top-notch customer service, improve safety and save time for our drivers while being Colorado’s one-stop-shop for tolling.
JOB FUNCTION: The Sr. Systems Administrator will support E-470’s growing IT and IS needs. This is a hands-on role requiring the ability to work within a team, drawing on expertise and exceptional judgment. This individual will work closely with and report to the IT Systems Manager.
JOB DUTIES:
• Manage and respond to IT incident and problem tickets within a defined SLA.
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices.
• Act as a SME in problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Configure and maintain virtual infrastructure using Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware
• Maintain multi-tiered, production storage systems.
• Configure and maintain multi-cloud environment.
• Run backup architecture and disaster recovery practices.
• Conduct server audits, performance testing, and provide dashboard reporting.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Certifications such as AZ-800, MS-102, and SC-300 are highly desirable. ITIL certification is a plus. • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in enterprise IT environments with a broad range of responsibilities across networking, server management, and cloud platforms. • Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016–2025) and familiarity with Linux-based systems is a plus. • Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO) administration, and user management. • Hands-on experience managing SQL environments, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning a plus. • Experience supporting Cisco voice systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and VoIP solutions desired. • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including virtual machine management, cloud networking, and cost optimization. • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls) and troubleshooting techniques. • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and server infrastructure. • Strong PowerShell skills for automation and task optimization. • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and departments. Pay Range: $135,000-150,000
