Description
We seek a Full-Time Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate effectively with team members, public officials, and clients. This individual will have a proven track record of civil engineering expertise for projects. Additionally, this candidate will:
- Partner with an experienced Project Manager to lead a civil engineering design team with a focus on both residential and commercial land development projects
- Oversee the production of design plans and specifications for grading, erosion control, stormwater management, sanitary sewers, water mains and private roadways
- Review civil engineering design calculations, drainage reports, and cost estimates
- Manage team, including team assignments, mentoring, and quality control
- Aid in team mentoring, day-to-day coaching, performance management
- Develop relationships with existing developers and local public agencies and be a contributor to the creation of proposals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB-accredited engineering program, or program that meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License
- Ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or project management software
- Experience with general civil design of grading, storm, paving and utilities, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling and presentation of results
- Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fifteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License in the State of Nebraska
- Team management experience, including leading, mentoring, and coaching
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Knowledge of the Omaha Regional Design Manual and PERMIX
- Demonstrated knowledge of Sanitary and Improvement District (S&ID) financing mechanism, Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, processes and procedures, and subdivision developments and site planning
