Accountant (Broker-Dealer)

Role: Financial Controller

Location: Hazlet, NJ 4 days & NYC 1 day

Job Type: Full Time

Job Responsibilities

· Product revenue reconciliations and associated accounting controls review.

· Responsible for monthly home office reporting under US GAAP & IFRS.

· 17a-5 and SOX Audit responsibilities related to invoicing, reconciliations and controls testing.

· Daily / Monthly p/l accounting vs desk p/l reporting by client.

· Prepare ad hoc requests from management team.

· Internal projects management liaison for Holding company and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

· 10 years of broker-dealer experience in securities accounting and/or broker dealer operations within the brokerage industry

· Strong analytical and accounting skills

· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger (i.e. SAGE & Inteliclear)

· Ability to handle information with high level of confidentiality

· Advanced proficiency in Excel

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments

· Working knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements

· Proven business partnering skills with the ability to communicate financial information in a concise and accessible manner to non-finance personnel and management

· Knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations

· Brokerage experience, trading environment experience preferred but not required

· Series 7, 27 or CPA is preferred, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
