Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
· Advance degree in Accounting, Finance or CPA preferred.
Responsibilities
· General Ledger and Reporting
· Manage the overall coordination of the month-end close within the accounting team.
· Complete month-end closing procedures and accurately review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations to meet the company’s reporting deadline.
· Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and reasonableness.
· Provide explanations of any significant fluctuations to accounts under management.
· Support the recording of new property acquisitions, additions, and disposition transactions.
· Review the integration of third-party accounting records into Yardi.
· Review of journal entries.
· Maintain overview of sales reporting to ensure current % rent billing.
· Maintain Insurance-Master policy schedule.
· Maintain Commissions schedule.
· Review and approval of water, sewer and tenant repair charges for tenant billing, portfolio wide.
· Common area maintenance (CAM) & Tax settle-ups for 3rd Party clients
· Maintain fixed assets/asset additions, portfolio wide.
· Review of journal entries
Budgeting and Forecasting
· Support Property Management and Finance teams in monthly/quarterly/annual property budgeting and forecasting processes.
External/Internal Audits
· Assist in audits and analysis of both internal and external clients.
· Document and certify accounting procedures and processes.
Other Responsibilities
· Supervise, train, cross- train and develop staff accountants with reporting packages and construction billing.
· Support CFO, Controller, accounting staff with ad hoc schedules and analysis.
· Research, interpret, and apply accounting standards as needed.
· Consistently review current processes for improvement.
· Present updates on process changes to the team and wider organization.
Requirements and skills
· Similar experience as an Accounting Manager or relevant role in accounting
· Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
· Knowledge of IBS, Yardi, Kardin, MRI preferred
· Knowledge of lease agreements and property financials a plus
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong organizational and communication skills
