Electrical Estimator & Project Manager
Location: Rockville, MD (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator & Project Manager to lead the estimation, bidding, and execution of electrical projects across government, commercial, and private sectors. This role requires a blend of electrical design expertise and project management skills to ensure successful project completion. The ideal candidate will oversee technical aspects, budgeting, scheduling, and client relations from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project scope and develop precise cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive project bids using estimating software or traditional methods.
- Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical plans to ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
- Apply electrical design principles and safety regulations throughout project execution.
- Manage all project documentation, including contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and addendums.
- Oversee procurement, ensuring all electrical materials align with project specifications.
- Provide technical writing support and maintain accurate documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical estimating and project management.
- Hands-on field experience in electrical work is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage projects independently and ensure successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Valid driver’s license (no more than three points).
- Trade school diploma or equivalent; professional licenses/certifications are a plus.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in contract administration and technical writing.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation.
