Civil Project Manager – Land Development

Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable Civil Project Manager to oversee land development projects from initial concept to completion. This role requires expertise in civil engineering, site development, regulatory approvals, and project execution. The selected candidate will manage project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Technical Oversight
- Direct project teams through all stages, including planning, permitting, and construction documentation.
- Develop engineering plans, technical reports, and specifications to secure necessary approvals.
- Ensure adherence to zoning regulations, land-use policies, and permitting processes.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and municipal boards.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and planners to meet project requirements.
- Build and maintain professional relationships through industry meetings and business development activities.
Construction & Contract Administration
- Supervise the bidding process, assess contractor proposals, and assist in contract negotiations.
- Oversee construction operations, including reviewing technical documents, responding to RFIs, and conducting site inspections.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, timelines, and regulatory guidelines.
Business Growth & Strategic Development
- Support company expansion by identifying new project opportunities and strengthening client partnerships.
- Assist in defining project scopes, preparing cost proposals, negotiating agreements, and managing budgets.
Communication & Leadership
- Maintain clear and effective communication with project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Mentor and support junior engineers to foster their professional development.
Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- 10 years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
- Proven ability to lead discussions with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong understanding of permitting procedures, construction oversight, and project documentation.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and project management tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits and meetings.
