We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to develop precise technical drawings, plans, and models for mechanical systems and components. This position requires experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and a solid understanding of mechanical principles. The role involves working primarily in an office environment but may require visits to outdoor construction sites with varying weather conditions.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor construction environments, including extreme temperatures, humidity, wind, rain, ice, and snow.
• Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on jobsite conditions.
• Frequent interaction with colleagues; may involve working under high-pressure situations.
• Operates standard office equipment such as computers, fax machines, calculators, and photocopiers.
• Requires manual dexterity for handling office tasks, bending, stooping, and mobility for errands or deliveries.
• Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and arms.
• Must complete job duties efficiently while adjusting to shifting priorities.
• Requires strong focus and alertness for extended periods to maintain safe and accurate work.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in creating precise technical drawings, prints, and 3D models.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles and material properties.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to conceptualize ideas, create rough sketches, and develop fully detailed designs.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred:

• Professional degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or DraftSight.
• Understanding of machining tolerances.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and machining processes.
• Experience in designing for wash-down environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
