JOB DESCRIPTION
Role: Controller
Location: Petersburg, VA/Onsite
Job Type: Fulltime/Permanent
Responsible for accounting, financial management and reporting. Responsible for the Purchasing team as well. Manufacturing Accounting experience is required for this position.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
· Responsible for all financial management and reporting, including daily margin, monthly close/financial statements, annual audits, financial analyses, budgeting, treasury functions, and standard cost/variance analyses. Manages the AR/AP/GL/Cash functions.
· Conducts financial modeling
· Secure annual (June 1) renewal of Property, Casualty, Umbrella and financial lines of commercial insurance. Primary contact with insurance broker. As well as workers compensation coverage that renews annually (July 1). Work jointly with HR on implementing this program.
· Serve as plan administrator for the company 401(k) plan, including reviewing investment performance with third party administrator/fiduciary (Raymond James)
· Responsible for overseeing the purchasing activities of the company including inventory management. The position will drive initiatives to lower costs and keep inventories at a manageable efficient level.
· Serves as part of Senior Management team that develops and implements the strategic plan for the business.
· Performs related duties as required to meet company objectives.
· Provides decision support to the President and Senior Management on the full spectrum of daily business issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Direct supervision of one department with responsibility for execution of recommendations regarding quantity and quality of work, and hiring and separation of personnel. Frequent responsibility for planning, coordinating and directing the activities of subordinates.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
· Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
· Five years financial management/reporting experience. Experience with Manufacturing accounting and Standard Cost variance is required.
Special Requirements:
· Driver’s license
· Occasional overnight travel
· Work beyond normal business hours
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
