Role: Electrical VDC Specialist
Location: Salt Lake City, UT/Onsite
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models of electrical systems in Revit, including wiring, lighting, power panels, conduits, cable trays, hangers, and other components.
- Participate in VDC coordination meetings, providing electrical input for clash detection and resolution.
- Collaborate with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to identify and resolve system conflicts.
- Generate shop drawings and fabrication documents to meet contractor and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring model updates and design modifications align with project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify that project execution aligns with design and coordination efforts.
- Support the development and maintenance of VDC standards for Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM platforms.
Required Skills & AbilitiesTechnical Proficiency:
- Expertise in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ACC, and BIM 360.
- Experience with content creation, LOD 100 & 200 modeling, and spatial coordination across multiple disciplines.
- Proficient in creating, modifying, and managing Revit families.
- Skilled in applying and managing filters within Revit.
Additional Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, error-free drawings.
- Solid understanding of electrical theory, NEC (National Electrical Code), and industry best practices.
- Experience in submittal reviews and following drawing checklists for final deliverables.
- Proficiency in file management, including folder organization and FTP functions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of Masterworks and Mail Manager.
- Understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, industry terminology, and workflows.
- Experience or knowledge of Fire Alarm, Security, Audio-Visual, and other electrical disciplines.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in drafting, design, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in electrical VDC modeling for power systems or building infrastructure.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
