Job Description:
Role: Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant II
Location: Greenfield, IN/Onsite
Job Type: Fulltime/Permanent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather data to calculate, plan, forecast, and analyze business costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard budgeted costs with actual production costs.
- Record cost information to assist in controlling expenditures.
- Perform audits of costs and prepare detailed reports.
- Evaluate changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine cost impacts.
- Estimate costs for new and proposed products.
- Prepare quotations for pricing large projects and conduct post-closeout analysis.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors that affect product or service pricing and profitability.
- Maintain cost accounting systems and databases.
- Assist with inventory valuation and reporting.
- Reconcile perpetual inventory to general ledger inventory balances.
- Evaluate WIP (Work in Progress) and finished goods inventory.
- Estimate and analyze excess and obsolescence inventory.
- Assist with month-end general ledger close, focusing on inventory-related entries.
- Develop and maintain standardized reporting databases.
- Generate internal performance reports.
- Develop and maintain standardized performance reports.
- Prepare internal monthly performance charts.
- Compile and prepare external Monthly Performance Review (MPR) charts.
- Analyze project and product costs, identifying and explaining variances.
- Calculate, review, and maintain pricing for both standard and non-standard product offerings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to appropriately price product offerings and large projects.
- Periodically review pricing and inform management when updates are needed.
- Forecast future costs to determine necessary pricing adjustments for budget alignment.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with cost systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel (advanced functions such as logical, lookup, reference, and math functions) and the ability to use Outlook and Word.
- Familiarity with Workwise ERP is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams on cost standard development and analysis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
