POSITION SUMMARY |
- The Theater Technician is an entry level position, part time, with no benefits. The applicant should have a basic knowledge of technical theater skills in order to serve as a backstage worker for persons or organizations that rent the Lynchburg City Schools theaters, to include E. C. Glass, Heritage, Dunbar and R. S. Payne. Applicants, both current students and outside applicants must be 16 years of age or older, and may either be nominated by the current theater directors/technical directors at E. C. Glass or Heritage, or vetted by those directors before consideration for the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
- Enrollment in or completion of Technical Theater I at either high school, or equivalent experience, as determined by the directors, as noted. Students in that class will have learned basic technical theater skills which may include lighting, operating a spotlight, sound, moving scenery during a performance, properties and working as run crew for school productions. Students from E. C. Glass may also be trained in operation of the theater’s counterweight system.
- Outside applicants should be able to document their experience in technical theater to the satisfaction of officials.
