What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bench Work position at E.C. Styberg Engineering Company?
As a member of the Benchwork Team, you will be responsible for providing final production tasks on all parts. This could include assembly, hand grinding, and deburring parts as well as stamping, and inspecting parts.

- Perform final productions tasks such as deburring, hand grinding, and stamping parts
- Visually inspect products looking for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications and performing tasks such as pass-thru testing
- Set up and operate laser etching equipment to engrave part numbers and customer info as needed
- Provide secondary operations including setting up and running the Time Saver machine, and spot welding
- Perform light assembly
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions meet part specifications
- Operate a variety of complex testing equipment
Qualifications:
- Seeking candidates with a minimum of 6 months of previous manufacturing, assembly, and/or inspection experience
- Proficient in reading part/assembly drawings
- Ability to work 10 hours in a physically active and challenging environment that includes but is not limited to; lifting 50lb parts continuously, walking, standing, lifting, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to read, write, and fluently speak English
- The use and knowledge of various gauges such as micrometers, calipers, and height and depth gauges are very helpful
Key Information:
- All candidates will train on our 1st shift for approximately 90 days and may transfer to the 2nd -shift upon completion of training
- Working Mandatory 55-hour work weeks - 1st shift is 5 AM - 3 PM Mon-Friday, 5 AM -10 AM on Saturdays and 2nd shift is 3PM - 1 AM Mon-Friday, 10 AM - 3 PM on Saturdays (41-48 hours paid at time and a halp, 49 hours paid at double time)
